Automatic feeders and water fountains, honestly
Both are useful. Both need more upkeep than the box suggests.
What a timed feeder is good for
Portion control and a consistent schedule, particularly for animals that beg at five in the morning. It does not replace a person: if you are away overnight, someone still has to check that the unit has not jammed.
Dry food only
Timed and gravity feeders are designed for dry kibble. Wet food spoils in the hopper. We sell the feeder; we do not sell food.
Fountains and drinking
Many cats drink more from moving water than from a still bowl. That is the honest case for a fountain, and it is worth trying if yours barely drinks.
The maintenance
Pumps need rinsing weekly and filters changing on the schedule in the manual. A neglected fountain grows biofilm and is worse than a bowl you wash daily. Factor that in before buying.
